The analysis is done by examining relevant international law, national law and policies laying down the frameworks and plans for establishing a NPP. Further, review of documents and literature has been done to support the analysis. Kenya needs to strengthen the legal and institutional framework by ensuring that critical treaties and supporting protocols are ratified in order to align with the international standards governing a NPP to guarantee safety of its people and protection of the environment while ensuring that Kenya progresses in development.
