und Sammlungen der Klassischen Archäologie an den Universitäten
gesammelt. Die Studie listet mehr als 40 Sammlungen mit über 400
Gipsabgüssen. Die nahezu 200 Motive werden abgebildet, hinzukommen
weitere, das Thema ergänzende Abbildungen.                         
                           While plaster casts were very common in
the collections at the Classical Archaeology and were discussed and
published, this was not the case for casts of objects of the Middle
East. In this book these copies, their fabrication, and their history
are presented for the first time. Since the mid of the 19th century
they were collected by museums and collection of the Classical
Archaeology at Universities. In this book you will find a catalogue of
more than 400 casts in more than 40 collections. The nearly 200 motifs
are completely depicted; supplementary images illustrate the topic.
