          “Les Chérubins / Keruvim dans l’Antiquité” erörtert
die reichhaltige Tradition der Cheruben (keruvim) und verwandter
geflügelter göttlicher Wesen in der Antike. Zwölf Beiträge sind
ihren Konzeptionen, Bedeutungen und Ikonographien in der Hebräischen
Bibel, im Alten Orient, im Alten Ägypten, in der ostmediterranen Welt
und in jüdischen und christlichen Texten und Kunstwerken gewidmet.
Unter anderem untersucht Pf. Abrahami den mesopotamischen
„kurību“, bietet A. Caubet einen Überblick über geflügelte
göttliche Figuren in der ostmediterranen Kunst, erörtert D.
Hamidović Cheruben in der jüdischen Merkavah-Literatur und S.
Bethmont die Ikonographie der Cheruben im Kontext der Bundeslade.
